The Bloomington Athletic Association Football

Bloomington participates in the Southwest Metro Football League. The league also includes Chaska (5th-7th) and Edina (7th grade only). The number of teams at each grade level varies depending on the number of kids that sign-up. But, in general Bloomington will field 4-5 teams at each grade level, Chaska will field 3-4 at each level and Edina will field 4 at the 7th grade level. The league utilizes the same rules and weight restrictions for all participating programs. Prior to the start of the season all directors meet to discuss rules changes and any necessary weight changes. Bloomington combines 3rd/4th graders together on the same teams to create an in-house league of 7-8 teams. Teams will play a 8 to 10 game schedule, depending on grade, plus playoffs.
